Jonathan Baldock: Held

Published to coincide with his Arnolfini exhibition, this is the first monograph dedicated to Jonathan Baldock’s work, bringing together the new commission alongside a wider overview of his practice to date.

Featuring newly commissioned texts, the book explores key themes in Baldock’s work, including world-building, making and materiality, nature and nurture, and the body.

Presented within the Gallery, sketch's Gastro-Brasserie restaurant, Jonathan Baldock's installation introduces a bold new chapter for the space, one filled with craft and joy. Baldock’s intervention comprises of multiple works from his Maske series, sculptural pieces from the Flowers series, and woven Cocoons suspended within the central dome, each reflecting the artist’s distinctive engagement with materiality and emotion. The Gathering continues the restaurant’s evolution as a living, ever-changing artwork.
